Teenage entrepreneurs sell social network: Amiz.fr acquired by Steek SA

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - October 3rd 2008. Amiz.fr, the two million plus member social networking platform, has been acquired by Steek SA of France.

The Dutch founders of Amiz, Sebastiaan Moeys (19) and Tijmen Crone (20) have today confirmed the acquisition that was already rumoured on Techcrunch France last Thursday. Financial details were not disclosed. According to Moeys, "The network wasn't sold at its peak traffic". But given the large number of members, "the service obviously didn't go for free", he later added.

The Amiz founders say they are "happy" about the network's future with Steek. After having discussed a possible acquisition with other parties, like Netlog, and receiving an attractive offer from - the also Dutch - Hyves, the founders decided in favour of the French company.
